INSTRUCTIONS FOR ASSEMBLY AND USE OF CONCRETE VEGETABLE GARDENS

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Thank you for purchasing the VEGETABLE GARDENS

IMPORTANT! Before assembling the vegetable garden, please read this manual carefully to ensure proper assembly and safe use.

Failure to follow the recommendations contained in this manual may damage the Product, destroy other items, and even may lead to bodily injuries.

The manufacturer recommends reading the manual before installation and following the rules for performing individual steps and following the safety instructions provided.

The company recommends the assembly of concrete elements of vegetable beds by professional companies with professional experience in this industry and appropriate to the scale of the project. Incorrectly performed assembly may damage the elements, regardless of what material they are made of. In extreme conditions, the products may crack numerous times, and the causative factors will be improper foundation performance, assembly errors, and even improper filling of the structure with earth.

IMPORTANT! FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THIS MANUAL MAY RESULT IN FIRE, SERIOUS INJURY, PROPERTY DAMAGE AND DEATH.

Loading and unloading should only be done in a horizontal position. It is unacceptable to move them vertically due to the unfavorable forces acting on these elements, the products have the right to bend, which may cause cracks on the concrete surface and even permanently damage the element.

All stages of work should be carried out in accordance with the guidelines contained in the relevant standards and in accordance with the art of construction. Before starting work, it is necessary to check whether the elements provided by the manufacturer are in accordance with the order placed and with the data on the delivery note, as well as the elements from different production batches do not differ significantly in color (in particular, it applies to colored products). You should also check that the elements do not show any mechanical, transport or other visible defects. In case of any doubts, please contact the supplier immediately, because after installing the product, there are no grounds for complaint.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

The vegetable garden is mounted on an even, stable surface. In the place where individual elements are joined, it is recommended to use a concrete slab, block, airbrick or brick. The individual elements are put upwards on the stainless steel tubes in the correct order. Before applying the next element, fastening strips are used to strengthen the entire structure. Before applying the next element, fastening strips are used to strengthen the entire structure. The final step is to glue the plugs into the holes with silicone, in which the tubes are located.

During assembly, it is recommended to use silicone in order to fill the gaps between the individual elements, as well as to obtain greater stability of the resulting structure. The use of silicone will prevent the individual elements from shifting while filling the vegetable garden with soil. This treatment will certainly increase the aesthetics and durability of the structure.

The use of tubes for the assembly of individual elements of the vegetable garden:

Vegetable pattern board and travertine:

Stainless steel tube fi 12 with a height of 26 cm – 1 layer

Stainless steel tube fi 10, 85 cm high – 3 layers

Rurka ze stali nierdzewnej fi 10 o wysokości 85 cm – 3 warstwy

Vegetable soup semi-ball pattern:

Stainless steel tube fi 12, 24 cm high – 1 layer

Stainless steel tube fi 10, 54 cm high – 2 layers

Stainless steel tube fi 10, 80 cm high – 3 layers

Elements of concrete vegetable beds may only be attached to a load-bearing base, i.e. a substrate capable of bearing the load of the entire element including the concrete foundation.

We distinguish three ways of mounting on substrates:

  • on solid surfaces, i.e. on ready-made pavements, alleys and roads made of concrete blocks or slabs and asphalt. In this case, the level of the pavement should be checked and the entire area planned under the product should be covered with waterproofing,
  • on a concrete foundation built directly into the ground. The foundation is a structural element that transfers the entire load of the structure to the ground. Therefore, the selection of the appropriate foundation solution ensures:

– minimum and uniform settlement of the structure and its efficiency,

– proper foundation depth (on the ground layer of appropriate bearing capacity),

– protection of the structure against moisture, e.g. capillary rise, by making horizontal insulations.

  • another even, stable surface to prevent settling of vegetable gardens and their stability.

When constructing foundations, remember to level them and even the surface. After obtaining the strength and resistance of the foundation (in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions, the use of concrete class C20 / 25 with the appropriate exposure class and in accordance with the PN-EN 206 standard), we proceed to further works. In case of unevenness, it is possible to level the foundation with a disc grinder. Then, the entire foundation in contact with the element to be installed is covered with bituminous insulation min. 2 mm.

After securing the inner walls of the vegetable garden with impregnation and foil, fill the structure with soil slowly and carefully. Particular attention should be paid to flat bars during this activity. Quick and inattentive filling may cause deformation of the entire structure due to shifts, inclinations as well as cracks of individual concrete elements.

3. Limitations and exclusions:

Information on concrete products

a) Cracking of the concrete surface of the product under the influence of temperature and the occurrence of microcracks does not result in the loss of functional capacity, and is the result of normal physico-chemical processes related to the expansion of concrete and steel reinforcement of which the vegetable garden element is made. The phenomenon of microcracks occurs as a result of shrinkage that occurs during the concrete setting process. Extensive research proves that the occurring shrinkage microcracks do not reduce the functional properties, and are not a reason for underestimating the technical parameters of products made of concrete. The above circumstances do not constitute grounds for a complaint.

b) At the edges of concrete products, there may be so-called flashes that arise as a result of the gradual wear of the mold and its stamps. These outflows disappear during the laying and operation of the surface. The occurrence of flashes does not reduce the utility value of the product and does not constitute grounds for a complaint.

c) Production-related pores may appear on the surfaces of some concrete products. They do not affect the properties as well as the underestimation of the technical parameters of the vegetable garden and do not constitute grounds for a complaint.

d) On the surface of concrete products, the occurrence of deviations in the uniformity of the surface layer texture is allowed. These deviations are caused by the inevitable changes in the properties of the raw materials, the production process itself, and also by changing the hardening conditions. These deviations are not considered significant provided that the technical parameters of the Products meet the requirements of the relevant standards. The above circumstances do not constitute grounds for a complaint.

e) In some cases, there may be color differences in concrete products. These differences may result from different maturation conditions (temperature, air humidity) caused e.g. by the order of filling the ripening chambers, time of day, weather changes and variable water-cement index of the mixture (despite the use of technically advanced methods of concrete moisture control), variable amount of cement paste on the surface of the products changes in the color of cement, as well as grain size and color of aggregate. The age of the concrete is an important factor influencing the change in the color of the Products. Color differences may appear when using products from different production batches for the construction. They arise due to slight differences in the characteristics of individual machines, the time of production of given batches and as a result of minimal differences in the starting materials. The above circumstances do not constitute grounds for a complaint.

f) There may be tarnish on the manufactured concrete elements – blooms. The appearance of efflorescence is a natural, random phenomenon that is completely independent of the manufacturer. However, they are a temporary phenomenon and, depending on their type and intensity as well as the intensity of use of the products, they disappear within a few years. The weather conditions during use also have an influence on the period of disappearance of efflorescence. The above circumstances do not constitute grounds for a complaint.

4. Disclaimer of Warranty

The warranty does not cover:

  1. wear or mechanical damage resulting from the use of the product,
  2. damage caused during transport or unloading,
  3. negligence and damage resulting from improper use, lack of proper maintenance, faulty assembly, self-repair and non-compliance with the recommendations of this manual,
  4. negligence related to the maintenance of the device (cleaning, impregnation),

  8. malfunction of products resulting from emergency conditions such as fire, flood,
  9. the right to claim compensation or reimbursement of lost profits due to improper use of the product,
