Creating your own vegetable garden does not have to be expensive, time-consuming and complicated. It is enough to delimit a small part of the garden and install several vegetable crates. Growing in raised beds is easier.

At the beginning, it is worth explaining to the children how important soil, sunlight and water are. In order for the child to be interested in the subject of the garden, give him the opportunity to choose the plants that he will cultivate. Strawberries, carrots, cherry tomatoes, radishes, cucumbers and lettuce are easy to grow and very liked by the little ones. It is also worth sowing pumpkins, which can be cut together in the fall or baked cakes. If your child likes flowers, consider planting marigolds, sweet peas, and nasturtiums.

Every gardener needs appropriate gardening equipment. That is why it is worth buying gloves of the right size, a hoe and a watering can also for small gardeners. You should also teach your child how to store and use tools. Show your child how to weed and water the plants. These skills teach responsibility and good organization.

A home garden allows children to understand where their food comes from. In addition, it fosters an understanding and appreciation of the land and farmers whose hard work supplies us with food.

When planning a vegetable garden, it is worth considering the position and length of vegetation. It is much easier to create and enjoy the crops of a small vegetable garden than to plan a large garden with many species of plants that may end up with poor results.
